Underberg Natural Herb Bitters is made with selected aromatic herbs from 43 countries, all essential to Underberg’s all-natural recipe. These bitters are therefore much more than a simple bitter or amaro ― Underberg is unique and inimitable.

The recipe and processing methods have been secrets held and guarded by members of the Underberg family, since 1846. This experience and knowledge regarding how to carefully extract the valuable herbal essences from 43 countries and how to turn them into an aromatic drink has been safeguarded by the SEMPER IDEM secret procedure. This is followed by several-month long maturation periods in casks made of Slovenian oak.

Underberg contains only water, alcohol, and herbal extracts. There are no other ingredients, and more specifically, no additives!

We aim to process all online and phone orders within one business day. While we are over 95% successful in achieving this aim please understand that we are a small business and during peak times unexpected delays may occur. We respond to every order inquiry via phone and/or email so feel free to reach out with any concerns and they will be addressed as soon as possible.

We ship everywhere in the US including Hawaii and Alaska. Shipping fees are usually less than advertised by UPS or USPS. We assess a small handling fee to offset the rising cost of packaging materials.

At times we offer Free Shipping as an online promotion. When offered, it can not be used for phone or in-store orders, and handling fees still apply to orders that receive free shipping. To note, free shipping is not available to Hawaii or Alaska.
